My life was forever changed on Mothers Day 2009. At the age of 38, after 13 years of marriage, I found myself a widow with 3 children (ages 5, 6 and 11) to raise.  I made a vow that day to do everything possible to make a wonderful life for me and my children.

In November of that year we moved to my parent’s farm; seventeen beautiful acres in coastal Southern Maine. It was a blessing. The kids traded in home school life for public school in March 2010, while I traded being a stay at home, married mom for becoming a single mom entrepreneur.

In May 2010, I roto-tilled the field that was to become my vegetable garden. Not sure where I was headed, I was determined to start over doing what I loved best: raising kids, baking and growing organic produce.  A business class, some round the clock baking, farmers markets, a chef and a coffee-house or four later and here I am.

My name is Liz and I am the owner of Sunnyfield Farm & Baking Co.  My garden grows every year as does my baked goods selection. I specialize in growing delicious organic, heirloom vegetables, herbs and flowers.  When I am not hanging out with my kids or the garden, I’m busy in the old farmhouse kitchen baking pies, tarts, scones, cookies, muffins, marshmallows, whoopie pies and the crowd favorite: biscotti for both commercial accounts and retail stores.

My priority is my children, and being the best mom possible for them. My business is an extension of who I am. It seems only natural to want to provide the freshest, most delicious food for my family, friends and the public; food that is nourishing to the body and soul. I hope you enjoy it!
